In my dreams

Are we out of the woods yet?

Why hello there. I realize I have not updated on here in forever. Well, here I am, yet again. A few things have happened/changed since I last updated:
1) I am obsessed with crocheting. So far, I have made 2 beanies, a scarf, and 1 fingerless glove (yes, singular, because I have not made the other one yet)
2) Basically I want to do every single DIY tutorial posted on pinterest. I'm on there a lot.
3) I LOVE THE GOOD WIFE SO MUCH. I especially like Will, Cary, Kalinda, and Diane. Diane might be my favorite :)
4) I might be getting tired of the whole pumpkin spice craze
5) Last week of lab!

I still want to open up an esty shop, so I am doing some researching during my free time to see how I can do this. It's difficult. I don't know much about SEO and I definitely don't get high traffic on my blog. I don't even know what exactly I want to sell...
But I have definitely fallen in love with art yet again, which is nice. I like having a creative output when most of my day consists of repetitive tasks.
Yes, I know I must change the layout of my blog, but I still love it too much ;(
Here are some things I have recently purchased and loved:
1) fleeced leggings-perfect for the cold weather!
2) Say Yes To Carrots repairing night cream-I've only had it for a day, and my face is already feeling so hydrated. Amazing. I love all their products :)
3) Red scarf-pop of color from my otherwise drab/black outfit.
I'm really into the current winter styles, especially the knee boots with cute socks peeking out. I know it's quite a sorority girl look (while in Texas anyway) but it looks nice and comfy.
Today, I wore:
1) oversized striped sweater
2) oversized gray sweater over that sweater
3) fleeced leggings
4) red boot socks
5) black military-style boots (from Italy!)
6) colorful beanie I made
7) black coat

I'm kind of going for a New England-ish/European look these days. Or at least I try.
Ok, and now I go back to watching The Good Wife...

I would start my own company.
6 What’s something you’ve always wanted to have? Did you ever get it?
lulz, I have always wanted Doc Martens. And yes, I did get them. But for non-material items...I wanted self-confidence. Do I have it now? Eh, a little.

While the oceans rose, we drank

Mmm, now doesn't that look refreshing? I have returned to the blogging-sphere, and I couldn't be more excited :) I have also returned to twitter, if you haven't noticed. It's been awhile since I have been a college student (read: 3 months haha), and so I haven't been updating much on either platform. But seriously, these two things were like, my saviors during hectic college weeks where everything was due and I really wanted to rant/write somewhere. So here I am.
Also, this will be my main blog for now, until further notice. I personally find wordpress to be more fancy, but I really like how blogger works. Also, Sophia Chua-Rubenfeld, my new heroine, uses/used blogger so there.
I know my whole profile needs a whole makeover, which I might get to....today...instead of studying for clinical chem 1 because how boring would that be.
Things I am excited for: new fall shows!!!, pumpkin everything, Halloween, next week already being over with because #toomanyexams, and the cool weather

Expect more updates! :)

And, I am back again

I've come back to blogger for awhile now, since I want my other blog to be more...mature. I know almost no one goes on blogger anymore, and people use other platforms for their writing needs, but I have also loved being on here. I was reading someone's blogger last night, and I really liked it, and it kinda just inspired me to come back here? Haha.
Anyway, I am now living in San Marcos, as many of ya'll probably know. I am not having the best time, because I do not like being back in school when I have tasted what it is like to have a paycheck, but I know I have to just grin and bear it because I need to someday become financially independent.
New obsession: Preppy style. Because I live in SM, and it is basically sorority/fraternity life central, I can't help but realize how practical their attire is for the climate. It is freaking hot here. I sweat through everything walking, no, hiking to class.I need good sport shoes with grip or else the trek is unbearable. I need loose-fitting clothing because having anything tight just becomes grossly sweated through. I did a bit of research on preppy brands instead of doing my math problems, and found the brand "Southern Proper" to be my favorite because I love the labrador mascot. One day I will purchase their products.
In addition, I have a thing for logo stickers. I like sticker collections plastered around a shop. Gives it character, ya know? I would love to make my own stickers! I have a few designs I made but they are not good enough to be made into an actual product. I also want to design t-shirts! Yay customink here I go. Hopefully soon I will make the design, and I will upload it to see if any of ya'll want it?
I wish more people went on blogger!
I am currently reading "Sophie's World".
Not doing hw ;)

as if it were a phenomenon

"She was extending a hand that I didn’t know how to take, so I broke its fingers with my silence."

- Jonathan Safran Foer

So, I know I have not posted in forever. Well, I am back, because I miss blogging a lot. I know no one probably reads my blog anymore, but that is okay.
Many things have changed since I last posted.
1) I no longer reside in Vegan House, and instead I live with my boyfriend and his brother in a townhouse about a 10 minute drive from campus
2) I, surprisingly enough, have a job.
3) My hair has gotten longer. I dress better now because I have to look good for work. I have gotten in trouble several times, and in the end out of frustration, I just did a semi wardrobe makeover.
4) I have been accepted into a MLS program, and will most likely be living in San Marcos for the next 2 years
5) I am a lot happier now. I am still a student, but things are looking up, for once in my life

I am supposed to be studying for an exam right now. However, it is excruciating boring. Antigen receptors and MHC? Yeah, no.
Stress is still plaguing me and millions of other 20-somethings, but it is a bit more manageable now.
Because I now receive a paycheck, it means I can actually afford things now. Namely, good food.  I went to Whole Foods with Leighton and Lena yesterday, and it was way more fun then it should have been. I purchased a bag of scallops, walnut brownies, cake, and coffee as a present for Leighton being patient with my shopping habits.
Things I love now: etsy (as always, I keep buying things from there it's kind of an addiction make it stop please), Bed Bath & Beyond (because yes I am a middle-aged white woman), pricey sushi (because whoa I did not know sushi could possibly taste this good), and mochi ice cream.

I still have a lot of problems. I am still awfully awkward in social situations, I still don't know how to do small talk, and if Plan A does not work out, I have no Plan B to resort to.

But I think I am getting the hang of life, something I thought would never happen. Gone are the endless days I spent moping around in my bed, full of anxious thoughts and dreams.

I will be posting more, so be on the lookout, darlings :)

My love of co-ops

An interesting read:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/12/fashion/Bay-Area-millenials-intentional-communities-communes.html?bicmp=AD&WT.z_sma=ST_NTR_20131212&_r=1&bicmet=1388638800000&bicmst=1385874000000&adxnnl=1&bicmlukp=WT.mc_id&smid=fb-nytimes&fblinkge0&adxnnlx=1386889168-GOiK9QUxdjrrJriB6WNXZQ&

I have spent the past 2 years living in a co-op that I fell in love with. Vegan House is what I call it affectionately. Yes, people have (and still) made fun of me for living in a "hipster" place where meat is forbidden. Yes, I did try going vegan + vegetarian at some point. And no, it didn't last very long...a month maybe?
The above picture is my house. I love it. I love the tiny plants growing in our garden, the benches on the porch, our welcoming front door that I must have opened a million times by now.
Yes, co-op living has disadvantages. I know I have complained countless times about the state of our commercial-sized kitchen, the lack of meat, the presence of lentils and beans....
But overall, it's been a wonderful experience. It's what made my college experience so enjoyable.
I am moving out next week. I have lived in 3 different rooms here. I miss Lena.
I will always know this place as home. It's not the same anymore-too many people have left now, and the new residents are strangers to me. I just miss everyone too much, and the experience is no longer the same. I miss and miss and realize that it's time to move on. I still don't know if I am graduating this semester, but I know it's time I move back to apartment-living.
This is the place that inspired me, that made me more open to new experiences. I'm still shy, afflicted with social anxiety disorder, but suddenly I'm more comfortable with human interaction.
I will miss you.
